I was born in San Bernardino, California which traditionally has evolved into what is now more or less addressed as "the hood." My parents divorced in early 1997, and one half (the Mom half) packed up our existence and moved us with her newlywed husband to a small town 45 minutes outside of Seattle, Port Orchard, Washington. Here is where I call home.
I attended school from the 4th grade to when I honorably received my diploma in early June 2008. From here I freed myself from the 'nest' and short lived a spur-of-the-moment-deicison and attended Arizona State University. Three words sum up this endeavor; Biggest. Mistake. Ever. I hated this place. My roommates, the food, my dorm, my RA, my classes, the heat, etc. How I thought this place was a match for me leads me to pure confusion. I moved back home over Christmas break and haven't regretted it since.
A year later, I had been working a steady "grown up" job as a Medical Receptionist at a private practice Orthopaedic office. (No spelling error there..THAT is how they spelt it) I received a certified letter from Utah State University just curiously wondering if I would be interested in applying. At the time I figured my life was headed no where, except a dreary path of darkness and doom, and I couldn't possibly have anything to lose.
Four weeks passed, and before I knew it April 4th arrived and I was standing outside Old Main. I have completed two full years and it now leads me here. My second to last semester at USU, Preston Parker's writing for PR class, assigning blog making as homework, and gladly doing it.
Heidi! I love your use of dialog in this case study, its flows very well together and has "ear popping" words like when you said "Dave Carroll fight head-to-head in a reputation worthy gauntlet." I like the reputation worthy gauntlet, because its a true comparison, but also draws the reader in.
